As a Roanoke wedding photographer, I see a lot of venues and often get asked for recommendations of my favorites! Here are twenty beautiful wedding venues in or near Roanoke, Virginia. From barn wedding venues to rooftops to ballrooms, Virginia has it all!
The Taubman Museum
The Taubman Museum is located in downtown Roanoke and is such an amazing venue! Talk about classic, luxury, and fun all in one spot! The glass staircase makes for the most amazing entrance and the decor can be anything your heart desires. There is a wonderful dance area that can fit a live band as well if that’s your vibe. There is a rooftop to get photos overlooking downtown as well and the streets surrounding the venue are fun to explore as well. The staff is also incredibly helpful which is always a big plus!

Glass Hill Venue
Glass Hill Venue is just shortly outside of Roanoke - located in Goode, VA. The entire venue is absolutely gorgeous. The bridal suite is beautiful and has everything you could want. The ceremony space has breathtaking views that will keep the guests taking pictures all night long. The sunsets at Glass Hill are one of a kind. The sun hits on those mountains and it’s just amazing. Inside is a big stone fireplace with high beam ceilings. It’s a perfect reception space or rain plan if needed!

The 84 Events
The 84 is a gorgeous barn located in Floyd. The entire property is beautiful with fields, mountains and even some animal friends. The bridal suite is a little cabin that is so beautiful inside! The landscaping around the property is stunning and the owners are the sweetest people. Enjoy dinner inside the barn and have dancing and drinks on the patio outside. The upstairs of the barn is a great rain plan as well.

Sunnybrook
The Sunnybrook Plantation is a gorgeous farmhouse located in Roanoke, easily off of 81 with several nearby hotels for out of town guests. The entire property is beautiful with willow trees, so many gorgeous flowers and plants year round as well as a waterfall. The bridal suite is recently renovated and so pretty for those getting ready moments with your girls! The main ceremony space is tucked away and surrounded by greenery - perfect for any season. Enjoy dinner inside the main dining room and have dancing and drinks under the open air porch.

The Seclusion
The Seclusion is an amazing venue located just out of Roanoke in Lexington VA. When I say this venue is one of a kind - it is! The big white luxurious barn is just perfection. Everything is new and updated. The bridal suite is cozy with a balcony that overlooks the reception space. The ceremony space has the most beautiful mountain views (catch it in the fall - perfection!) The aisle and ceremony space have stone that contrast against the mountains. There are little fire pits and outdoor seating as well as a covered patio perfect for cocktail hour. The inside has a big stone fireplace as the main focal point. It is large, tall ceilings, great furnishings and ready for you to make it yours!
Sinkland Farms
Sinkland Farm is a wonderful venue just south of Roanoke in Christiansburg VA. It is easy to find for traveling guests! This venue is stunning. The reception barn is big and bright. The bridal suite is beautiful and cozy with it’s own kitchen. The grounds are really the best part. There is a pond, mountain views, hydrangeas and other great landscaping all around! The ceremony backdrop of the pond with the fountain in the middle is a gorgeous view!

West Manor Estate
West Manor Estate is one our favorite venues! It’s located in Forest VA just a short drive from Roanoke. When you pull up to the estate it definitely makes a statement! The circle driveway in front of a gorgeous brick estate - beautiful. This venue has so many amazing places around the property. The bridal suite has a perfect room for getting ready and so many well decorated rooms for portraits. The indoor ballroom for dinner is beautiful and spacious. The atrium for ceremonies is so unique and pretty. We’ve seen daytime and night time ceremonies in there - whatever you choose it’ll be beautiful! Aside from the front of the venue photographing well, the back of the venue has a greenery filled courtyard and gazebo for outdoor ceremonies as well. The atrium is also a perfect spot for dancing the night away!

Red August Farm
The Red August Farm is located in Waynesboro which is a short drive from Roanoke, but it is so worth it! This is one of my all time favorite Virginia barn wedding venues. There is a long driveway lined with trees leading up to the large red barn. The downstairs of the barn is a perfect outdoor bar area for cocktails and the upstairs of the barn is a gorgeous space for the reception - those high ceilings are BEAUTIFUL!
The outdoor ceremony space has the most stunning fireplace as the focal point that you can decorate for any season. The mountain views are the perfect backdrop here!

Mountain Lake Lodge
You know that famous movie Dirty Dancing? Well you definitely need to check out this gorgeous wedding venue right outside of Roanoke where Dirty Dancing was filmed! This large stone hotel is just so pretty and has several lodging options on site for guests.
There are many ceremony options, including an adorable gazebo, but my favorite is definitely the overlook on the property! Whether you hold your ceremony on the mountain top (think saying I do in the sky!) or you decide to opt a few photos up there - it is SO worth the bumpy ride to the top! The venue also has a restaurant to cater and the food is delicious.

Belle Garden Estate
Belle Garden is a gorgeous estate venue that has so much character and charm to offer to your wedding day. It is tucked into the mountains of Wirtz, VA. The driveway is lined with trees that are beautiful in every season, there are mountain views, a creek, wooded areas and so much more. The estate is just the perfect backdrop. The bridal suite is amazing and has been updated - so much room and beautiful light which is a photographer’s dream! There are so many little nooks and areas to this venue that are so unique from anything else in the area! Isabelle - the venue owner is amazing and will take excellent care of you!

Big Spring Farm
Big Spring Farm is another beautiful venue located right off 81 just outside of Roanoke in Lexington VA. Willow trees are all over the property and cover the main ceremony space. The big pond is a beautiful backdrop as well as the top of the venue property which has a gorgeous golden hour sunset right on the mountain tops! The bridal house is gorgeous - all white and wood accents with so much room and plenty of backdrop options. The barn is spacious and has such high ceilings!

Hunting Hills Country Club
Hunting Hills is a great venue right in Roanoke! It has several different ceremony location options - my favorite is the brick patio! The ballroom is gorgeous with lots of windows for natural light and a big fireplace! The food is amazing of course. Everything in one location is always a plus as well. The green grounds from the golf course are pretty as well with some mountain views too!

Triple J Farms
Triple J is the most beautiful barn wedding venue tucked away in Catawba, VA with stunning mountain views! This venue is fabulous to work with - the owner is amazing and has so much to offer (centerpiece options, seating, several ceremony space options) and she’s just the sweetest!
There are horses across the street and cows behind the barn for guests to watch. Dinner is served in the dining room of the barn and then dancing is on the wraparound porch. There is always a lemonade bar as well as a s’mores station with a firepit, which is always a hit with guests!

The Penthouse - Center in the Square
If you’re wanting the views of downtown Roanoke, the night lights, and some mountains in the back - this is the place! This rooftop location is definitely a wow factor for your guests. There is a clear staircase that looks like it’s going straight to the sky! There are twinkle lights over the patio area and you can’t beat the view! There is an indoor ballroom with so many windows so you can continue to see the views from inside. This venue is one that will be remembered!

The Omni Homestead
Want to really wow your guests? Imagine driving up to this insanely gorgeous resort! The Omni Homestead Resort is a short drive from Roanoke and again, so worth it! This resort is stunning inside and out. The history and character is like no other. The property is huge with lots of activities for guests to enjoy during their stay. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful with a white pillar backdrop and the ballrooms for receptions are filled with light and perfect for dinner and dancing.

Braeloch
Braeloch is in Roanoke VA and a venue so unique and beautiful. The building is nestled on a hilltop with the most beautiful mountain views. The barn-like building has three walls of windows so you can see the views from inside or outside, making it a perfect venue for a backup plan if the weather doesn’t cooperate on your day. There is a kitchen for caterers which makes it so easy for food prep. The flat mountain view ceremony space is the perfect spot to watch the sunset!

Sundara
Sundara is a gorgeous tucked away venue right outside of Roanoke. There is an old farmhouse that is just gorgeous with rooms to get ready in. The property is huge with so many different options for photo ops! The ceremony space is underneath this huge, beautiful tree where the sunlight is perfect for the ceremony! The reception space is a giant white tent filled with chandeliers and twinkle lights and plenty of room for dancing!

Hahn Gardens at Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech weddings are so fun especially for alumni! The gardens is a gorgeous backdrop filled so many different varieties of flowers, plants and trees. They have a little space for bathrooms, food setup, etc. The garden area has space for a giant tent - beautiful for sure! There are so many pathways and spaces for guests to explore as well as to take photos. Blacksburg as a city has so much to do for visiting guests as well!
Virginia vineyard weddings are always stunning— let’s be honest! This smaller wedding venue in Roanoke for intimate weddings is so fun to work with! The owners are great and help in every way they can. There is a gazebo overlooking a pond which is a perfect outdoor ceremony space to also provide shade and shelter for guests. The pavilion for dancing is covered in vines - gorgeous! And the tent covered reception area is so pretty against the vineyard backdrop. You can also have local wines included in your reception which is always a hit!
Hotel Roanoke
This gorgeous hotel is right in downtown Roanoke so the convenience factor is huge! The hotel is stunning inside and out! If you’re going for a classy, elegant vibe - this may the place for you. One plus is that you can do all events from start to finish in one location. The outdoor courtyard is a perfect spot to say I Do. The ballrooms for the reception are spacious and classic. Also being able to head downtown or around the property for photos is definitely a great addition to this venue.

The Barn on Unity Farm
This huge barn venue is located a short drive from Roanoke! The barn is gorgeous inside and out! There is a whole wall of twinkle lights inside to really set off that romantic vibe. The outdoor patio is the perfect area for cocktail hour, a bar and dancing under the night sky. The property has the most gorgeous trees filled with twinkle lights to really make a nighttime impact!.
On the Glen on Glenburn Farms
The Glen is a sister property to Braeloch (mentioned above) located right in Roanoke. It is a huge building that is easily transformable to fit the theme you are going for! The space is very large so if you’re having a large wedding - this is a wonderful option for up to 300 guests! Outside, you can’t beat the mountain views and sunsets. There is great space outside for bar setup, cocktail hour, photobooths, anything you can dream of!

The Maridor
The Maridor is a beautiful estate in Roanoke with such a gorgeous courtyard - perfect for smaller weddings. The ceremony space outdoors has a semi circle/stone patio area under a big tree which is very unique. The getting ready space is so pretty with natural light and a big staircase inside the front door. The ballroom area for the reception is spacious and great for dancing. The walkway out front gives a great backdrop for photos as well!
Diamond V Farm
This Roanoke barn wedding venue is also one that makes an impact! The outdoor ceremony space has beautiful mountain views and horses in the fields (they often make an appearance during weddings, and I love photographing my couples with them)! There is a beautiful stone walkway from the barn to the altar at the ceremony site, so no worries about heels sinking in the grass.
The inside of the barn is filled with twinkle lights which is so pretty when you walk in. The huge barn doors open up so you can feel the evening air flow through. There is a small dance floor in the barn so you and your guests can dance the night away!
As a bonus, the bridal cabin is so cute with it’s own kitchen and living area. It’s a perfect spot to get ready with the girls.
