Culture
I grew up in southern VA and have always loved each time visiting Central VA! Charlottesville is such a community focused city that is just beautiful! The downtown area is full of culture - a good mix of modern and historical. Outside of the city - the loving community is always there to rally.
Weather
If you’re a fan of seasons like me, then you’ve found the right spot! You can’t go wrong with any season here in Central Virginia. Fall is especially beautiful in Virginia, with the foliage peeking through the mountains. And summers have a beautiful calm glow about them.

Red August Farm
The Red August Farm is located in Waynesboro which is a short drive from Roanoke, but it is so worth it! This is one of my all time favorite Virginia barn wedding venues. There is a long driveway lined with trees leading up to the large red barn. The downstairs of the barn is a perfect outdoor bar area for cocktails and the upstairs of the barn is a gorgeous space for the reception - those high ceilings are BEAUTIFUL!
The outdoor ceremony space has the most stunning fireplace as the focal point that you can decorate for any season. The mountain views are the perfect backdrop here!

The Seclusion
The Seclusion is an amazing venue located in Lexington VA. When I say this venue is one of a kind - it is! The big white luxurious barn is just perfection. Everything is new and updated. The bridal suite is cozy with a balcony that overlooks the reception space. The ceremony space has the most beautiful mountain views (catch it in the fall - perfection!) The aisle and ceremony space have stone that contrast against the mountains. There are little fire pits and outdoor seating as well as a covered patio perfect for cocktail hour. The inside has a big stone fireplace as the main focal point. It is large, tall ceilings, great furnishings and ready for you to make it yours!

Barns of Kanak
The Barns of Kanak are located in Prince George VA. One thing that makes this venue so special is the staff. The owners as well as the planners on site are incredible people willing to go above and beyond! There are several different barns - some red, some metal, a few silos, a farm house for the bridal suite and a cottage for the grooms suite. Everything is on site which is always beneficial! The ceremony spots outdoors are beautiful and the sunsets there are always gorgeous.
