Now let’s document this amazing time in your lives. Engagement sessions are some of my favorite times I get to spend with couples. They are an essential part of the wedding process. Not only do you get memories of this season, but we get to know each other before the wedding day. Once you know how I work, you’ll be so comfortable on the wedding day - you won’t even think twice. I hear so often “we’re not the most photogenic” or “we’re awkward” or “my fiancé hates pictures”. But hey - that’s why you hired me! I promise I won’t make you look awkward. After a few minutes you’ll warm up and actually enjoy the session - promise! I’m here to help you every step of the way, but a few tips to keep in mind:
If you have a location that’s special to you two (first date, proposal location, where you met, etc) let’s go! It’s always nice to have a location with meaning behind it. One great thing about engagement sessions is that you have time. You don’t always have a ton of time on the wedding day so this gives us time for you to get comfortable, have fun and just enjoy it. Tell me a little about you two and what you’re envisioning for these special photos - mountains, fields, flowers, downtown - whatever your vibe is we will find the perfect spot!
The outfits - again, I’m here to help! You can always do an outfit change to have two different looks for your session. I recommend one more casual and one more dressy outfit to mix it up. Check out my blog post with helpful hints!
Some of my wedding photography packages include an engagement session or you can always add one on to the package of your choice.

Don’t feel like you have to be someone you’re not. My whole goal is to capture who you are as a couple and your personalities. I know it’s hard to be in front of the camera, but trust me and you’ll loosen up quickly. You’ll laugh, you’ll look at each other more than you ever have, and you’ll get to spend time with your person! So come as you are and I promise you won’t regret it!
Make it a date night! I always recommend a more dressy outfit for half of your session. Why not pick a restaurant and go out to eat after? It’s a great way to make that session even more of a memory!
