A Smith Mountain Lake Virginia Outdoor Family Session

I had a blast this past summer in Smith Mountain Lake at this family photoshoot. This session is one of my favorites of the season because it was so fun and unique. They have a beautiful house on the lake and wanted their session to reflect them as much as possible. I love when sessions are so authentic and really illustrate family memories, it adds such a special storytelling element to their keepsake photos!

I loved their wardrobe as well as it fit the theme of the setting but also their personalities seamlessly. Throughout our time together, we took our time settling in to their property, the kids played and fished, then we got to head out on the boat for a little bit and enjoyed time with the kids in a classic sunset light on the water. And of course, I have to mention their adorable dog who made a cameo too!

Virginia is such a beautiful place! I love to do lifestyle sessions like this where the family is relaxed, can just be themselves, and does something fun and unique to them!
